Crosshaven AFC were delighted to be part of the FAIreland festival of football, which is taking part in cork right now. We were delighted too have welcomed CEO John Delaney, FAI president Tony Fitzgerald, former Irish internationals Stephen Hunt and Stephen Kelly, current Irish woman’s international goalkeeper Amanda Budden, current Irish woman’s international striker Amber Barrett to our grounds in camden. On the day we held the second half of our annual charity tournament. We had 65 kids take part in a 5aside tournament which raised great money for the mercy foundation. We presented the mercy foundation with €3000. Special thanks to all those who donated the past few weeks. After handing over a cheque to the mercy hospital, John Delaney presented us with a cheque for €30,000 towards our all weather development, which we are extremely grateful for. We would like to say a massive thanks to all those who attended, especially the tánaiste Simon Coveney and Michael McGrath TD.
We at Crosshaven AFC would like to wish Tony Fitzgerald a very happy retirement after his service towards the FAI and grassroot football in Cork.
