The U17’s had another 2-2 result today but today’s draw felt like a win.
Crosshaven had countless half chances in the opening period but failed to capitalise. In fairness though some of the play was very easy on the eye. David Daly went closest but his hooked shot was just kept out. A breakaway goal just before half time gave Rockmount a 1-0 lead.
Within a minute of the second half Crosshaven were level. Good work in defence by Adam Welch & Evan Harris O’Leary allowed Owen Merchant the time and space to play a wonderful cross field pass to Patrick Cotter who superbly volleyed home the equaliser. As Crosshaven started to dominate they were dealt a major blow as Owen Merchant harshly picked up a second yellow leaving Crosshaven with ten men for the final 35 minutes. An Adam Welch og restored Rockmounts lead & ten men Crosshaven had it all to do. This team though has a never say die attitude & when Evan played Ethan Berkery Kelly through he crossed beautifully for Patrick to volley home the equaliser. Crosshaven held out for the final fifteen minutes with hard work, good goalkeeping & last ditch challenges for a deserved point. Monster result away from home.

Jack Forde & Shay Murphy had good chances before Leeds picked the lads off. Crosshaven had good performances from Óisin Murphy, Óisin Scully, Ashton Hourican, Jim White & Sam Dorney. ...
